Mitigating reputational risk is a key service we offer our clients. As the focus of animal advocacy groups quickly shifts from cage-free egg policy adoption to policy enforcement and accountability, more and more global and local groups are launching questionnaires, surveys, trackers, and benchmarking tools to evaluate implementation progress. Having worked extensively with animal advocacy organisations, we understand the value of transparent communication of progress to mitigate reputational risks.
Filling out these numerous surveys and questionnaires can be overwhelming and time consuming for food businesses. It’s become a never-ending task. We’ve received a lot of feedback from the food industry that there is a need for a more centralised and streamlined reporting process.
We’re excited to share that in response to this need, and after incorporating feedback from major food businesses through a stakeholder consultation, we have launched WelfareProgress.com, the first centralised cage-free egg reporting platform. We invite food and hospitality companies, around the globe, to submit their reports.
Our aim is that WelfareProgress reduces companies’ reporting burden and helps them increase transparency around their progress.
WelfareProgress allows companies to publicly showcase their cage-free implementation progress on a single platform, instead of filling out multiple questionnaires.
Key animal advocacy groups—including The Humane League, Mercy for Animals, Animal Equality and Sinergia Animal—have agreed to accept cage-free egg progress reporting from WelfareProgress as a preferred alternative to their individual progress surveys and questionnaires.
WelfareProgress helps companies demonstrate progress on their cage-free commitments through accurate, thorough and timely reporting, allowing them to provide credible information to investors, animal advocacy groups, suppliers and consumers.
WelfareProgress also provides an opportunity to report beyond volumes. We provide a platform to showcase progress and implementation efforts to stakeholders.
We hope WelfareProgress is a useful tool for your company, and we look forward to learning about your cage-free progress. Let us know if we can support you in this process — we’d be happy to help!
